Gaya Kepemimpinan dan Supervisi Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Profesionalisme Guru

Abstract


This research aims to find out: 1) The leadership style of the principal at State High School 3 Bengkulu City, 2) The supervision approach carried out by the Principal at State High School 3 Bengkulu City, 3) The strategy carried out by the Principal in improving the professionalism of teachers in Bengkulu City State High School.This research is qualitative descriptive with the collection of data using observation methods, interviews and documentation carried out according to needs. From the results of the research showed that the leadership style carried out by the principal at Sma Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu is a democratic style, which prioritizes deliberation in determining a policy that concerns school affairs. While the supervision carried out by the principal towards teachers takes a collaborative approach, namely through the Deputy Principal of curriculum which is passed on to senior teachers who then senior teachers conduct guidance in terms of learning. The strategy of the headmaster of State High School 3 Kota Bengkulu in improving teacher professionalism by taking various approaches, namely: 1) applying open management, 2) teachers are considered partners, 3) assigning tasks according to ability, 4) paying attention to teacher loyalty and dedication, 5) encouraging teachers to improve themselves, 6) always ready to be criticized, 7) provide opportunities to improve qualifications, 7) provide opportunities to improve qualifications, 8) make class visits, 9) provide refreshment, 10) give awards to outstanding teachers.
