Focus and Scope
Syi'ar Scientific Journal is an academic journal published by the Department of Dakwah, Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab and Da'wah, Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu State Islamic University. This journal publishes original research on various concepts, theories, perspectives, paradigms and study methodologies. The focus of the study of the Syiar Scientific Journal includes:

Peer Review Process
Some policies in the review of Jurnal Ilmiah Syi'ar:
- Any submitted paper will be reviewed by reviewers.
- Review process employs Double-blind Review, that the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewer.
- In the review process, reviewers consider the correspondence of title, abstract, discussion (findings) and conclusions. In addition, reviewers also consider the novelty, scientific impact and references used in the paper.
The response of the reviewers will be the basis for the Editor to conclude:
- Accept Submission
- Revisions Required
- Resubmit for review
- Resubmit elsewhere
- Decline Submission
An article was rejected for publication due to various considerations, including:
- The article does not fit the scope of journal.
- The article does not follow the rules of writing scientific papers or author guidelines.
- The fundamental methodological errors.
- The author refuses to make suggestions of improvements provided by the reviewer without a logical basis.
- There are indications of plagiarism of more than 20%.
Publication Frequency
Jurnal Ilmiah Syi'ar published twice annually June and December.
Open Access Policy
Jurnal Ilmiah Syi'ar provides immediate open access to all article on the principle that making research freely available to the public; supports a greater global exchange of knowledge; and invaluable way to maximize the visibility and impact of research, especially education field.
Jurnal Ilmiah Syi'ar uses CC BY-NC-SA or Attribution–NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License
This means :
- The freedom to use and perform the work;
- The freedom to study the work and apply the information;
- The freedom to redistribute copies;
- The freedom to distribute derivative works;
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
Author Fees
Jurnal Ilmiah Syi'ar does not charge a fee for submission, the initial manuscript, to the review process. When the manuscript is declared accepted, you must pay for publication Rp. 250,000.
Plagiarism
We accept all terms and conditions of COPE about plagiarism and in case, any attempt of plagiarism is brought to our attention accompanied with convincing evidence, we act based on flowcharts and workflows determined in COPE.
All submissions will be checked with Google Scholar: New Submission and After Acceptance from the editorial boards.
Reference Management
In writing Citation and Bibliography, editor Jurnal Ilmiah Syi'ar suggests authors to use the Mendeley Reference Management Software.

Journal History
- The first issue (Vol. 1 No. 1) of Jurnal Ilmiah Syiar (JIS) was published in February 2007. JIS only publishes articles in print-out.
- In February 2017, JIS started publishing articles to the online system. Then complete the online version of several previous editions.
- In April 2019, JIS appointed Mr. Ihsan Rahmat as the new Editor in Chief.
- In May 2019, JIS fundamentally changed the journal template and displayed it on the front page of the journal.
- In May 2019, several indexers were successfully entered by JIS.
- In June 2019, JIS changed the publication schedule from previously in February and August to June and December. This change is related to the reason for funding the journal and the opportunity to get quality writing is wider.
- In June 2019, The accreditation assessment of JIS through Arjuna: AKREDITASI JURNAL NASIONAL by The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (SINTA).
- In November 2019, JIS was indexed by SINTA rank 4 (here)
- In December 2019, for the first time, JIS implemented the OJS system which was demonstrated through the process of review, revision, proofreading, and others.
- Throughout 2019, the Editor in Chief and Editor continuously participated in various journal training: OJS work processes and practices, Sinta's accreditation strategy, DOAJ's accreditation strategy, and also Scopus, a strategy of getting quality writers and reliable reviewers.
- In March 2020, JIS applied to DOAJ but was rejected due to unclear journal policies.
- In June 2021, JIS reduced the number of published articles from eight to five. This is done in order to select really quality writings.
- In December 2021 (Vol. 21 No. 2), JIS made two fundamental changes to article writing: published an English version of the article and used the APA Sixth Edition body note style.
- In May 2022, JIS reassessment by Sinta.
